Duo accused of primary school murders to face court together

The court has ordered that the identities of both suspects be withheld at this stage, citing potential safety risks to their families.

The case involving the fatal shooting of Enxiweni Primary School Principal Nozibele Tabu and administrative assistant Nobantu Njomboni has been postponed to November 24.

The first suspect, a 26-year-old woman arrested on November 19, briefly appeared in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, November 21.

Her case was postponed to allow the second suspect, a 35-year-old man arrested early this morning, to join the proceedings when he appears on Monday.

Both suspects face two counts of murder and remain in police custody.

Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Steve Mabona, who attended the court proceedings, welcomed the progress made by investigators.

“We are quite happy as the department. We are just hopeful that the real killers will be brought to book.

“What we are seeing now are people who did not pull the trigger.

“If they arrest those ones, we will be happy. We are pleased with the work done by the police and we will allow them to do their work further,” said Mabona.
