Suspect to appear in court after deadly Thembisa home invasion
A case of house robbery and murder was opened after a family of three was attacked at their home in the early hours of December 14.
Gauteng police have arrested a 50-year-old man in connection with a house robbery and murder in Maokeng Extension, Thembisa.
The suspect was arrested on December 14, following a police investigation that tracked him to his home.
Gauteng SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Demakatso Nevhuhulwi said more arrests are expected as investigations continue.

The man is expected to appear in the Thembisa Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 17.
According to Nevhuhulwi, a case of house robbery and murder was opened after a family of three was attacked at their home in the early hours of December 14.
“It is reported that four suspects forcefully entered the house using an axe.
“The husband was shot and killed, while the wife and son were assaulted. The suspects fled the scene with laptops, cellphones and cash,” said Nevhuhulwi.

Police confirmed that while four suspects are believed to have been involved, only one has been arrested at this stage.
Investigations are ongoing.
