Police investigate three murder cases in Thembisa

Police asked anyone with more information about the triple murder to call the police on 08600 10111 anonymously.

Three men were murdered in Sophiatown, Thembisa.

According to information received, the incident occurred on the night of April 7 and the police were called on the morning of April 8.

Police officers from Rabie Ridge SAPS responded to the scene.

When the police arrived, the body of an unknown man was found with an injury to his upper body.

An ambulance was called and medical practitioners on the scene declared him dead.

A brick was found next to the deceased’s body.

It is suspected that it may have been used as a murder weapon.

While the police were on the scene, they received a call to attend to another crime scene approximately 1km away.

On arrival at the second scene, officers found the body of a second unknown man with slight injuries on his upper body.

The man’s body was facing downward, and he was also declared dead by paramedics.

A third victim was believed to also have been attacked by community members in the Phomolong area.

According to the police, although the third man was injured he managed to run away and hide in Birch Acres Mall.

The man died of injuries sustained and remains unidentified.
