Three arrested, drugs seized in Etwatwa and Brakpan police operation

Three suspects face drug possession and dealing charges after Benoni Flying Squad confiscated dagga, meth, mandrax and cocaine in Etwatwa and Brakpan.

Benoni Flying Squad members arrested three suspects and recovered drugs between February 19 and 21.

On February 19, at around 09:30, members were patrolling along R50 when they noticed a white Ford Ranger with a canopy resembling a police or security vehicle.

The vehicle was pulled over on the R555 just before Esselen Street, Etwatwa.

Benoni Flying Squad members arrested three suspects and recovered drugs between February 19 and 21.

On searching the vehicle, they found six large bags of dagga weighing approximately 20kg.

The two occupants were immediately arrested, and the Ranger was impounded for use in the commission of a crime.

In further policing, a suspect was arrested on February 21 at around 11:10 in Hastings Street, Brakpan. Crystal methamphetamine, mandrax and Cat (cocaine) were recovered in this incident.

Investigation continues in these cases.

The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
