Six arrested as EMPD confiscates illegal drugs across Ekurhuleni

Targeted operations across Ekurhuleni led to the arrest of six suspects and the confiscation of mandrax, dagga, and crystal meth.

EMPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Community Liaison Unit officers confiscated illegal substances valued at over R9 000 during operations conducted across the City of Ekurhuleni between March 9 and 14.

As part of an ongoing effort to rid the city of illegal substances and enhance community safety, officers carried out targeted operations in various areas.

EMPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Community Liaison Unit officers confiscated illegal substances valued at over R9 000 during operations conducted across the City of Ekurhuleni.

During these operations, six suspects were found in possession of various illicit substances, such as Mandrax, dagga, and crystal meth.

The suspects face charges of possession of and possible dealing in illegal substances.

They were detained at different police stations and are expected to appear before the relevant magistrates’ courts soon.
