17 undocumented migrants detained in Ekurhuleni during EMPD operations

EMPD Specialised Services Unit officers apprehended 17 undocumented foreign nationals, aged between 20 and 50, during operations conducted across the City of Ekurhuleni between March 23 and 29.

Officers carried out targeted law enforcement operations in identified hotspot areas as part of ongoing efforts to address the presence of undocumented individuals in the country.

EMPD Specialized Services Unit officers apprehended 17 undocumented foreign nationals, aged between 20 and 50, from various African countries across the City of Ekurhuleni between March 23 and March 29.

During the operations, the suspects were questioned but failed to provide valid passports or satisfactory documentation to justify their presence in the country.

All 17 suspects were immediately arrested and transported to various police stations, where they remain in custody.
