Senior Hawks and Crime Intelligence officials granted bail

The accused appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court in connection with allegations of illegal dealings in precious metals.

Three suspects, including senior law enforcement officials and a Durban businessman, have appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court in connection with allegations of corruption and the illegal dealing in precious metals.

The accused in the case are Crime Intelligence head Major-General Feroz Khan, Gauteng Hawks head Major-General Ebrahim Kadwa, and Durban businessman Tariq Downes.

The three appeared in court on May 11, where bail was set at R20 000 each. The matter has been postponed to July 14.
