City cleans Kempton Park CBD

The two-day operation formed part of the City’s attempts to deal with the waste collection backlog created in recent weeks.

On Thursday, the city’s Mayor Tania Campbell rolled up her sleeves to join the team on the ground to clean up the CBD.

The two-day operation formed part of the city’s attempts to deal with the waste collection backlog created in recent weeks.

It is also part of a bigger strategy to normalise waste collection in the City of Ekurhuleni.

These operations will happen regularly throughout the city, especially in areas where the need is identified.

Campbell emphasised the need to keep Ekurhuleni clean and committed the city to ensure that the objective of a cleaner and healthier Ekurhuleni is realised.

The city appealed to community members to join the fight to keep Ekurhuleni clean.

“Members of the public are discouraged from illegal dumping activities because such actions defeat the objective,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
