Ward 15 residents invited to nominate candidates for 2025 committee elections
Elections take place on October 9, offering opportunities to represent sectors like youth, women, faith-based groups, and community safety.
Residents of Ward 15 in Kempton Park are invited to participate in the upcoming 2025 Ward Committee elections, with nominations soon opening for candidates to represent a range of community sectors.
The nomination period runs from September 15 to 29.
Forms are available at Customer Care Centres (CCC), libraries and Public Participation Offices. Once completed, you must submit them to the Community Participation and Education Offices, 4th Floor, Kempton Park CCC.

The elections are on October 9 at 18:00 in the Kempton Park Council Chambers.
Some vacant sectors to be filled:
• Women and children;
• Youth;
• Faith-based organisations;
• Aged and disability;
• Economic Development and City Planning;
• Community Safety.

Requirements for nomination
To be eligible as a ward committee member, candidates must:
• be South African citizens;
• be registered voters of the ward;
• be at least 18 years of age;
• have no criminal convictions;
• Not owe council money for services, or be willing to make the necessary arrangements to settle any arrears in line with council policy
Ward committees play a vital role in strengthening public participation in local government, giving residents a voice in decision-making processes that directly impact their communities.
