Cricket festival at Winnie Mandela

Tembisa Mini Cricket and the Eastern Cricket Union hosted a cricket festival at Winnie Mandela Primary School on August 5.

The aim was to get children more active and participate in the sport.

According to Amos Komape, the Tembisa Mini Cricket co-ordinator, the event featured friendly matches as part of development, though they mainly concentrated on participation rather than results.

There were 10 teams from Thembisa in total.

The last match was between Endulwini Primary School and OR Tambo Primary School. Endulwini made 27 runs for the loss of two wickets, and OR Tambo made 24 runs and lost five wickets.
