Mooifontein Road finally repaired
The road between Birchleigh North and Norkem Park has been resurfaced, and road markings will soon be applied to this long-overdue project.
Ward 91 Clr Desmond Mckenzie has said he continues to advocate for his Mooifontein residents.
As such he and the community have been in contact with the CoE to raise concerns about the area’s failing infrastructure and roads.
“The road between Birchleigh North and Norkem Park has been resurfaced and road markings will soon be applied to this long-overdue project,” said Mckenzie.
According to Mckenzie this was made possible through numerous meetings with stakeholders, senior government officials and numerous petitions.

“Finally, this road has been rehabilitated as a result of the DA’s pressures, and we would like to thank the community for the ongoing support and the strong representation at the end of the day, a unified community has won,” he said.
“As a result of the road’s many years of deterioration and poor upkeep, potholes seemed to get larger overnight and motorists’ cars suffered damage, making it a very inconvenient and dangerous travel route. Significantly endangering the safety of drivers.”
“The DA will not allow the failing EFF-led coalition to rob residents and communities of services,” added Mckenzie.

He further stated that the DA will remain alert and ensure that those who are responsible for service delivery be held to account and perform in terms of their constitutionally mandated obligations.
