Thembisa Sporting Ladies excel at regional league

Lethabo Mathekga, the chairman, expressed his happiness with the team's performance, highlighting the pleasure in achieving an amazing place and the thrill of playing in the league.

In a thrilling season that kicked off in March and concluded on November 4, Tembisa Sporting Ladies showcased their prowess in the SAFA Ekurhuleni Women’s Regional League, securing a commendable fourth place.

Despite facing a setback in the group stages, the ladies demonstrated resilience and skill throughout the competition.

Unfortunately, they were unable to advance further, dashing the hopes of holding the coveted cup.

Chairman Lethabo Mathekga expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, emphasising the joy of participating in the league and the pride in reaching an impressive position.

Mathekga acknowledged the challenges faced and conveyed gratitude to coach Nare Kgatla and the entire team for their dedication and sacrifices.

“We are delighted to have participated in the league,

“While we may not have clinched the title, the journey was one of growth and accomplishment.

“Coach Nare Kgatla played a pivotal role in our journey.

“The first team, under his guidance, navigated the group stage without a single loss, their hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed.

“Our technical team and loyal supporters also played a crucial role in our journey, and their contributions are deeply appreciated,” said Mathekga.
