Six suspects caught by flying squad and stolen vehicles recovered
The BFS arrested six suspects and recovered two motorcycles and two vehicles between November 20 and 23.
Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) members arrested six suspects, and recovered two motorcycles and two motor vehicles between November 20 and 23.
On November 20 at about 10:00, officers followed up on information from a tracking company about a stolen motorcycle around Actonville.
“Members proceeded to a dwelling at the Emandleni informal settlement, where they arrested a 35-year-old suspect after two motorcycles were found hidden in the shack, both reported stolen on a Brakpan case,” said the unit’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Grant Giblin.

Officers patrolling Thembisa on November 22 at about 15:00 received information of suspects at a house in the Isithama Section washing stained money.
“On arrival, they arrested two suspects busy washing the stained money. Further information was gathered and followed up, leading to a third suspect also found with a stained note,” said Giblin.
While busy with this suspect, a phone call on his cellphone led to setting up a meeting with two more suspects.

These suspects arrived in a white Toyota Quantum and, upon seeing the police, they tried to speed away.
The BFS cornered the Quantum, resulting in two suspects jumping out and trying to flee. They were chased down and apprehended.
The members arrested five suspects and recovered about R60 000.
In further policing, two hijacked and abandoned motor vehicles were recovered – a white Isuzu truck on Isando Road, Kempton Park, reported on a Rabie Ridge case and a white Toyota Quantum at Ehlanzeni Section, Thembisa, reported on a Thembisa South case.
