Kempton Park Dojo looks back on great year

Kemton Park Dojo instructor, sensei Janien Potgieter said the year was successful and the hard work of the members paid off.

Kemton Park Dojo instructor, sensei Janien Potgieter said the year was successful and the hard work of the members paid off.

“It is the most wonderful feeling as an instructor to see the hard work been put in being rewarded with the next grade and winning championships.”

Kempton Park Dojo has three members and all of them participated in their first championships and were rewarded with medals.

Agata Szafranski, Megane Potgieter, sensei Janien Potgieter and Kelsy Szafranski .

“Megan Potgieter collected two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. Kelsey and Agata Szafranski walked away with two bronze medals each.”

Potgieter said they also attended their annual lowveld gashuku as well as the vasbyt gashuku for black and brown belts and Megan holds a green belt.

Kelsey and Agata have just graded to their shodan.

“We are looking forward to 2024. We are looking to win more medals, have fantastic grading, gashukus and grow as individuals.”
