Councillor Bulelwa Ngqwangi remembers highs and lows
“I would like to bring more capital projects into the ward, such as a clinic and police station because these are the needs of the community.”
Kempton Park’s Ward 13 Clr Bulelwa Ngqwangi said when she assumed office as a councillor, her ward had a high crime rate and unemployment.

She said the ward committee members made up 10 sectors and she ensured that CPF and other safety structures are formed and functional.
This assisted in reducing the high crime rate in the ward.
Ngqwangi said unemployment was lessened by applying various strategies which included the co-ordination of the business community in the ward and asking them to consider local labour with a focus on non-technical skills.
“I ensured that when the departments introduce a project to the community, residents should be employed, and skill transfer should be considered.”
Ngqwangi also facilitated the skills development of 50 students across three fields for a year.

“I would like to bring more capital projects in the ward, such as a clinic and a police station, because these facilities are needed in the community.
“We also need a school, which is in the pipeline.
“These capital projects will stimulate the economy in the ward and provide long-term employment,” she said.
She aims to create a clean, crime-free area and provide better services to the community.
“I wish all the families in my ward a lovely Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Always remember, faith makes everything possible, hope makes everything work, and love makes everything beautiful.”
