R21 to be closed THIS WEEKEND for cable repairs
On April 20, the highway will be closed between 06:00 and 18:00 while on April 21, the closure will be from 06:00 to 12:00.
Residents and motorists are advised that the R21 will be closed this weekend in both the northbound and southbound directions.
On Saturday, April 20, the roadway will be closed between 06:00 and 18:00.
On Sunday, April 21, the highway will be closed from 06:00 to 12:00
The closure will be between the Olifantsfontein Road and the Nellmapius Road exits.

Closure of the highway will enable Eskom to perform essential work to install new overhead transmission power lines and a conductor which supplies electricity to the area.
Motorists will be diverted via the M57 for the detour route.
On April 12 the R21 highway was closed off in both directions after a powerline mast was damaged.
The damage resulted in high-voltage powerlines hanging dangerously low over the freeway.
