Take a hike at Melville Koppies

Your heart is guaranteed to pump fast, and your Fitbit will be soothed by your efforts.

“For all those keeping up with the demands of their Fitbits, now is your chance to test yourself in the city,” said Melville Koppies volunteer Jenny Grice.

Residents are invited to join the 8km guided hike through Melville Koppies East and then back through the Melville Koppies nature reserve.

Participants can meet at the Marks Park car park, Judith Road, Emmarentia, on April 28 at 08:15.

The entry is R90 for adults, and those younger than 18 pay R50.

 

Hikers head to one of the downhills

The 8km hike will leave at 08:30.

Alternatively, residents can book a guided tour by calling 079 532 0083. It costs R100 per person.

Other events, like a scavenger hunt and a 3km self-guided heritage hike, are available.

Melville Koppies is open every Sunday from 08:00 to 11:30.

Safe parking is opposite the entrance to the Koppies at Marks Park Sports Club on Judith Road, Emmarentia.
