Talented Phomolong muso creates unique melodies

Dimakatso Chauke from Phomolong, Thembisa, fell in love with the mic and music at the age of 10.
Growing up, music was in her veins.

She decided to follow her passion professionally in 2021. Her talents are promoted by Shinning Stars Productions.

Her musical inspirations were given life by Bishop Isaac Nonyane, who spotted her talent at church and then took steps to expose her talent.

Dimakatso said Nonyane is one of the people who believed in her talent and told her she could do any type of music she wished.

Her family always knew that she had a talent for singing and always encouraged her to explore music.

She said her family is one of the reasons she decided to act on her dreams.

Dimakatso Chauke spoke to The Thembisan on the challenges faced by musicians on a daily basis.

“One of the biggest challenges musicians face is competition. Being around the crowd and fame with other artists can be overwhelming at times.

“We can overcome this through learning from other artists on how they hype the crowd and also focusing on giving your best on stage instead of looking down on other artists.”

Listeners can expect more music from Dimakatso during the year; she promises to deliver music that will make everyone stand on their feet.

“I advise you never to feel lazy or ashamed to showcase your talent. If you love something, work hard for it, and chase it until you own it. Everything is possible, and only you can make it happen.”
