Tembisa Community Forum engages the community

TCF held a packed awareness campaign too educate Thembisans about the use of letters of authority and execution and how to obtain them.

Applying for a letter of executorship and a letter of authority remain a serious obstacle for community members.

With that being an issue, Tembisa Community Forum (TCF) called the community of Thembisa together on July 24 to help educate residents about the process of applying for a letter of authority and executorship.

The awareness event dwelled on how to access the documents and when to use them.

The TCF invited members of Trisol Fiducial Services to answer questions posed by the community. TCF’s mandate is to tackle issues in the community for greater growth.

TCF chairperson Lelenkie Lefakane said the awareness will teach the community to know how and when to use the letters of authority and execution.

Community members receive education on letters of authority and execution.

“We have socio-economic issues that affect us as the community. We are struggling to get services from the municipality because we do not know how to approach or gain access to these letters.

“Taking to the streets all the time does not bring us solutions, but instead, it damages our community.

“It is for this reason we chose to host a workshop to teach residents about processes to follow when looking for service from the municipality.

“We have learned that many households qualify for indigent services, but they do not know how to start the application process,” said Lefakane.

“This awareness will help educate those who experienced water and electricity cuts from the CoE. It is unfortunate that to access these letters as residents need money.

“The workshop provided great detailed plans on how these papers can help households receive their services.

“During the elections, an imbizo at Mehlareng Stadium saw the community being promised electricity restoration and to this day we have not seen any changes.”
