Thembisa NPOs unite to find solutions to socioeconomic issues

NGOs united to educate each other on how to run a successful organisation.

Izithelo Zenkosi recently hosted a vital workshop for NPOs in Thembisa, focusing on compliance, marketing, networking, and fundraising tools.

This initiative aimed to enhance the capacity of local NPOs, which play a crucial role in advocating for socioeconomic change, good governance, and education in the community.

Olwami Shushu, the office administrator of Izithelo Zenkosi, explained the workshop equipped organisations with essential administrative knowledge.

“We hosted this gathering to share information with those who run organisations but may lack expertise in compliance and governance.

“Many NPOs operate with great enthusiasm but lack the proper structure needed to secure funding for their initiatives.

NPOs unite to help improve each other.

“By bringing NPOs together, we aimed to address the critical issue of applying for funding, especially for those who do not have sufficient information on the process.”

Guest speaker Siyabonga Mthembu emphasised the importance of marketing in elevating organisations.

“My focus was on marketing because it plays a vital role in taking businesses and NPOs to greater heights.

“It is always gratifying to witness leaders from various organisations come together to learn about maintaining compliance and implementing measures to access funding and achieve favourable audits.”

The event allowed participants eager to learn and share insights.
