Monametsi also hosts two influential radio shows.

One, The Healing Room, is a heartwarming program that delves into grief, mental health, and the path to healing.

Listeners are drawn to her compassionate approach and insightful discussions, finding comfort and strength in her words.

The other show, Therapy Talk, airs every Thursday on Hope Alive Radio, where she addresses mental health and depression with empathy, offering valuable guidance to her dedicated audience.

Monametsi’s advocacy for mental health is deeply personal.

She had to confront her own grief after losing her husband to Covid-19.

Reflecting on her experience, she shared, “Grieving is a highly individual process, and there’s no right or wrong way to grieve. It depends on many factors, including your personality, coping style, life experiences, faith, and the significance of the loss.”

She emphasised the importance of allowing oneself to grieve and feel whatever emotions arise.

“It is essential to permit yourself to grieve and to surround yourself with supportive, understanding people. I found healing through prayer, which gave me the strength to move forward,” Monametsi said.

“Only God can heal a broken heart.”

She also advised those without support from friends or family to seek help from community groups, social support networks, online forums, or therapists.

“The pain of grief is deep and overwhelming, and you need emotional, spiritual, financial, and physical support because grief can affect every aspect of your life,” she noted.

Monametsi spoke about the five stages of grief; denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, clarifying that these stages do not necessarily occur in a linear order.

“People can experience different stages at various times, and you may not go through all of them. Each person’s journey through grief is unique.”

She encouraged those dealing with grief to find strength in their faith.

“Ask yourself who or what is more powerful, God or your grief.

“If you let God clear your vision, you will start feeling things you thought you lost.

“The pain is not there to destroy you; it is there to push you toward your purpose.“

Concluding her reflections, Monametsi said, “Sometimes God allows us to go through pain so that we can give birth to our purpose through it.”
