SAPS busts 95 suspects and recover multiple vehicles and firearms
95 suspects were arrested by Rapid Response Services between October 25 and October 31. Forty-one vehicles and five firearms were also recovered in multiple operations.
Between October 25 and October 31, Rapid Response Services comprising Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol members throughout Gauteng arrested 95 suspects, recovering 41 motor vehicles and five firearms.
Officers participated in various concentrated operations, vehicle checkpoints, secure escorts and intensive patrols around Gauteng, which led to 55 arrests for serious crimes including assault common and GBH, armed robbery, robbery, theft, possession of stolen property, house burglary, rape, murder, perjury, pointing of a firearm, malicious damage to property, kidnapping, contravention of a protection order, domestic violence and driving under the influence of alcohol.

A total of 41 hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered with eleven 11 arrests for the possession of these vehicles.
Five unlicensed firearms were recovered accompanying three arrests.
In further policing, 26 arrests were made for the possession of and dealing in drugs.
Heroine, dagga, cat (cocaine), Mandrax and crystal methamphetamine were among those confiscated in these separate incidents.
Investigation continues in these cases.
The suspects will be appearing in the local magistrate’s courts across Gauteng.
