Laerskool Kruinsig’s U11 A cricket team won the Easterns Primary Schools Cricket League on October 24.

In the Kempton Park division final, Kruinsig faced Laerskool Impala.

Impala batted first, putting up 111/9 in their 20 overs.
JD Botes was the star bowler for Kruinsig, claiming four wickets for 17 runs, including a hat-trick in the final over.
Luan Koogje supported him with an economical one wicket for 14 runs in four overs.
Kruinsig’s batting innings saw an early collapse, but thanks to a brilliant 58 runs off 40 balls by Botes, they chased down the target, scoring 114/5 in just 15 overs to win by five wickets.
In the Easterns quarter-finals played on October 17, Kruinsig played Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck from Springs.
Batting first, Jan van Riebeeck managed 90/8 in 20 overs.
Kruinsig’s bowlers shone again, with Duan Vermeulen taking two wickets for 13 runs in four overs, Botes added two for 15 in four overs, and Luan Koogje claimed two for 17 in four overs.

Kruinsig’s response was commanding, achieving the target with 93 for no loss in just 11.5 overs.
Liandro Mulder scored an unbeaten 44 off 46 balls, and Vermeulen contributed 27 not out from 28 balls, securing a 10-wicket win.
In the semi-final clash against Laerskool Dalview from Brakpan, Kruinsig batted first, posting a strong 117/1 in 20 overs.
Notable performances included an unbeaten 54 by Liandro Mulder off 61 balls and 36 not out by Jodey Coertse off 43 balls.
Dalview’s innings fell apart when they were bowled out for just 10 runs in 5.3 overs.
Luan Koogje was phenomenal, taking five wickets for three runs in three overs, while James Kitching added four for five runs in 2.3 overs.
A stunning run-out by Botes added to the pressure, giving Kruinsig a remarkable 107-run victory.
The final saw Kruinsig up against Farramere Primary from Benoni.
After winning the toss, Kruinsig elected to bat and posted a competitive 116/4 in their allotted 20 overs.

Key contributions came from Botes, who scored 41 off 44 balls, and Jodey Coertse, who scored 31 off 47 balls.
Kruinsig’s bowling attack delivered an outstanding performance defending their total, restricting Farramere to 98/7 in 20 overs.
Tristan Dippenaar led with three wickets for 16 runs in four overs, supported by Avan Faurie with one wicket for 14 runs in four overs and Botes adding one wicket for 15 runs in three overs.
Kruinsig clinched the match by 18 runs, earning their second Easterns title since their U9 victory.
The U11 A team’s success is even more impressive, given their earlier struggles in the season.
Their remarkable comeback was attributed to the hard work and dedication of the players and their coach, Faan du Preez, who never wavered in his belief in the team.
