Police operations yield big successes

BFS arrested four suspects for crimes such as being in possession of counterfeit goods, damage to property and drug possession.

Between November 14 and November 17, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested four suspects and recovered counterfeit goods.

During the early hours of November 14, members patrolling the N12 pulled over a silver Hino truck close to the Springs off-ramp.

A search of the truck led to the discovery of seven large bags of branded sneakers and flip-flop shoes.

After investigation, it was confirmed that they were counterfeit and the 43 and 46-year-old suspects in the Hino were immediately arrested.

The goods, valued at around R100 000, were handed in as exhibits.

On November 16, at around 12:00, members patrolling in Commissioner Street, Kempton Park were stopped by a security guard next to the squash centre.

She pointed out a suspect who had allegedly broken several windows in an attempt to enter the building.

The 28-year-old suspect was arrested on the spot.

In further policing, a 43-year-old suspect was arrested on the corner of Wenden and High roads, Brakpan, when he was allegedly found in possession of crystal methamphetamine.
Investigation continues in all cases.
