EMPD officers arrest offenders during operation

In total, 415 vehicles carrying 700 individuals were stopped and searched at this location.

The EMPD southern region precinct officers, first responders and social crime prevention teams conducted roadblocks on busy roads to enhance safety and curb lawbreaking.

The operation, held between 16:00 and 22:00, resulted in the arrest of two intoxicated male drivers in Primrose at the corner of Shamrock and Main Reef.

One of the drivers was also charged for operating an unroadworthy vehicle.

In total, 415 vehicles carrying 700 individuals were stopped and searched at this location.

The arrested individuals face charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and were taken to Primrose Police Station.

They are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.

In another operation on President Street in Germiston, between Odendaal and Spilsbury, 320 vehicles and 610 individuals were stopped and searched.

These ongoing efforts aim to ensure safer roads and reinforce compliance with traffic regulations.
