Factory fire destroys over 30 tons of recycling materials
31 firefighters from various stations worked to contain and extinguish the fire. One person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Yesterday, January 26, a factory fire broke out at Clayville Industrial and was reported to the EMPD call-taking centre at 14:23.
The first responding team from Station 14 arrived on the scene at 14:30 and confirmed that a recycling company was on fire.
The factory owner reported that two 8-ton trucks and three 4-ton trucks were inside the premises at the time of the fire.

Fire crews promptly began attacking the blaze while company drivers moved the vehicles to safety.
It was reported that over 30 tons of K4 box bales inside the factory were actively burning.

A district turnout was activated, and teams from Kempton Park, Thembisa, Faremere, and Commercia responded to the emergency.
A total of 31 firefighters worked tirelessly on the scene to contain and extinguish the fire.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation, and no further injuries have been reported.
Although the fire has not been fully extinguished, firefighters continue to work diligently to ensure the area is safe and the fire is completely under control.
