EMPD arrests man with scheduled drugs and dagga

Officers acted on a tip-off about a young man allegedly selling illicit substances in the Madelakufa 2 informal settlement.

Members of the EMPD’s Community Liaison Unit arrested a 20-year-old man in Thembisa on January 15 for contravening the Pharmacy and Handling of Medication Act after they found him with Stilpane, a scheduled drug, and dagga.

Officers acted on a tip-off about a young man allegedly selling illicit substances in the Madelakufa 2 informal settlement.

At about 10:30 on the day, officers arrived at the identified location, where they found the man with dagga and Stilpane, arrested him and transported him to the Tembisa Police Station, confiscating the substances as evidence.
Investigations are underway to determine the source of the Stilpane.

The man will soon appear in court.
