Thembisa SAPS brings career expo to local matrics

Ekurhuleni District SAPS and Thembisa SAPS social crime prevention coordinators participated in a career expo aimed at matrics in Thembisa.

Learners from local high schools attended the event hosted by the Devoted Citizen NGO at Hope Restoration Ministries Church.

The involvement of SAPS in the career expo provided a valuable opportunity to engage with young people on the brink of starting their professional journeys.

Learners learnt about various career options and had the chance to explore opportunities at different higher-learning institutions.

A highlight was the opportunity for learners to interact with police officers, where they gained insight into the requirements needed to pursue a career in policing.

The officers also emphasised the importance of education, discipline, and dedication in serving the community.

According to Major General Anna Sithole, the Ekurhuleni district commissioner, the event sought to motivate young people.

“We hope to inspire the next generation of officers who will help us build safer, stronger communities,” she said.
She also expressed her gratitude to the event organisers.
