Bikers bring food and dignity to war veterans in charity drive

Members of the Hell Razor Motorcycle Club brought groceries, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to Griffith Court in Boksburg, supporting war veterans through their annual Razor Aid initiative.

The roar of engines echoed through Railway Avenue at around 09:20 on May 25 as a convoy of bikers and a truck loaded with groceries made its way to Griffith Court, home to several war veterans and members of the Legion.

Dressed in their club’s biking regalia, members of the Hell Razor MCC arrived in large numbers to hand over tons of groceries to the veterans, in a show of solidarity and support as part of their club’s initiative, Razor Aid.

Standing in front of the truck loaded with groceries, Johannes Kruger hands over the food parcels to beneficiaries Leigh Chapman, Carlene Roos, Alan Cape, Stuart McKay, and Stuart Drennan.

Before offloading the parcels from the truck into a designated room, the bikers took time to gather and socialise with the residents, who were visibly happy to see them.

Hell Razor of the year, Johannes Kruger said that this year they chose to support the war veterans, who themselves are also part of a motorcycle club, after recognising a real need.

“We donated 150 food parcels, which include food, toiletries, and cleaning materials.

“The parcels will be split among the residents, and the rest will be distributed to others who come to their premises daily for food support,” said Kruger.
