Dagga bust and drug arrests: Flying squad nabs four suspects
The dagga was estimated at around R15 000 and the money was handed in as an exhibit.
Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) members arrested four suspects and recovered dagga between May 29 and June 1.
On Thursday at around 09:30, members patrolling Heidelberg Road at the corner of Lancaster in Benoni South pulled over a green Opel Corsa.
The members arrested two occupants, aged 31 and 36, after discovering a large parcel of dagga in the vehicle.
The dagga was valued at approximately R15 000, and the money was handed in as an exhibit.

The suspect was charged with bribery after he offered the officers money for his release.
During further operations, the officers arrested a 51-year-old suspect on June 1 on Station Road, Brakpan, and recovered crystal methamphetamine and Mandrax.
Also in Brakpan, a 35-year-old was detained on Hospital Road after he was found wearing a Correctional Service belt, in contravention of the Correctional Service Act, as he is not in their service.
The investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will appear in local magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs, as well as a charge under the Correctional Service Act.
