Water supply interruption in Ekurhuleni planned for late June to early July

kurhuleni residents are advised to prepare for a scheduled water supply disruption from June 30 to July 2, as the City conducts essential maintenance.

The City of Ekurhuleni has warned that some areas will experience water outages due to planned Rand Water maintenance at the Zwartkopjes pumping station.

The maintenance is scheduled to begin at 05:00 on June 30 and will continue until 07:00 on July 2.

Affected areas include:

Benoni and Wattville:

Airfield, Northmead, Farrarmere, Rynfield, Lakefield, Actonville, Wattville, Mackenzie Park, New Modder and surrounding suburbs.
Boksburg and Germiston:

Sunward Park, Freeway Park, Boksburg CBD, Boksburg South, Parkdene, Atlasville, Elspark, Anderbolt, Leondale, Katlehong 1 and others.

The city has confirmed that water tankers will be dispatched to affected areas. However, full restoration of supply could take up to seven days, particularly in high-lying areas.

Residents are advised to:

• Store water ahead of time
• Use water sparingly during the outage
• Stay informed via the City of Ekurhuleni’s website and social media channels

“We ask residents to prepare and remain patient while this essential work takes place,” the City said in a statement.
