Kempton Park content creator launches new podcast

Content creators join hands and start a podcast.

With a vision to create a platform for in-depth conversations and storytelling, Martin Nkomokana Kekana, also known as NUMi, has partnered with Big Brother Africa 2011 finalist Lomwe Namate to launch a new podcast titled ASAP (As Soon As Podcast).

Launched in July 2025, ASAP offers a mix of informative, entertaining, and inspiring content, including interviews, discussions, and storytelling.

The podcast aims to spark thought-provoking conversations, share diverse perspectives, and connect with audiences across different backgrounds.

Kekana, the founder of ASAP, said his passion for storytelling and content creation inspired the project.

“I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and sharing ideas. Content creation allows me to express myself creatively and connect with like-minded individuals.

Our mission is to provide thought-provoking content that inspires and educates our audience. Our vision is to become a leading platform for meaningful discussions and storytelling,” he said.

Born and raised in Kempton Park’s Birch Acres, Kekana is a content creator, artist, and real estate agent. Outside podcasting, he enjoys performing and expressing himself through music and other creative ventures.

Namate, who was born in Malawi and raised between Malawi and England, now resides in Johannesburg. He worked in national radio for seven years before participating in Big Brother Africa 2011, where he reached the finals.

He explained how his journey into podcasting began:

“I met NUMi at Mphongo Dreamz studio shortly after moving to Norkem Park in 2015. We clicked over music and became friends.

“We worked together on our first radio project, The Catch Up, which was broadcast every Sunday on Caxton Radio at Emperors Palace until the Covid-19 lockdown forced us to end the show. Now we’re back with our new podcast, ASAP, and we’re launching our first episode on September 6.”

The two hosts say their biggest challenge is maintaining consistency and keeping their content fresh and engaging, but they remain committed to growing the podcast.

“We’re planning to expand our topics, guest list, and audience engagement. We’re also exploring new formats and collaborations to keep our content exciting.

“The purpose of our podcast is to provide a platform for thought-provoking discussions, storytelling, and connection-building,” Kekana added.

ASAP is available on the SkeemGP network and major streaming platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.
