SAPS conducts school search at Jiyane Secondary to promote safety

SAPS, together with the CPF, EMPD, and community patrollers, carried out a safety operation at Jiyane Secondary High School to remove prohibited items and educate learners on the importance of a secure learning environment.

The SAPS, led by station commander Colonel Pero and Vispol commander Lieutenant Colonel Nzuza, joined forces with Social Crime Prevention, sector managers, the CPF, Community Safety, the EMPD and Siyabangena patrollers to conduct a school search at Jiyane Secondary High School.

The operation aimed to promote a safe and secure learning environment by identifying and removing any prohibited items.

SAPS, CPF, and EMPD members carried out a thorough search of the school premises, while learners and staff were also educated on the importance of safety and security.

Constable Kate Selepe of Tembisa South SAPS said the search was carried out professionally and respectfully.

“The school was found to be safe and secure. Learners and staff were co-operative and supportive of the initiative. The search reinforced the importance of maintaining a safe and secure learning environment,” she said.
