Thembisa Plaza celebrates Women’s Month with fitness and empowerment
Muscle tower gym alongside stakeholders celebrate women month.
On August 30, Thembisa Plaza became more than a shopping hub; it transformed into a vibrant stage for empowerment and community spirit.
Boston Media House student Lesedi Langa, in collaboration with Muscle Tower Gym and Thembisa Plaza, hosted a Women’s Month event to honour and uplift women.
The celebration drew families, gym members, and young women from across Thembisa.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including yoga, aerobics, poetry, entertainment, and a showcase by Miss Muscle Tower contestants.

The contestants were selected not only for their appearance and self-confidence but also for their leadership, charitable involvement, and dedication to personal growth.
For Langa, the event was both a learning experience and a calling.
“PR is about building connections, not just managing brands. This campaign showed me that it can also teach and inspire people, as well as bring them together. Muscle Tower is not just a gym, it’s a home to many people in Thembisa.”
The success of the event was credited to strong teamwork and leadership from both Thembisa Plaza and Muscle Tower Gym.
Beyond fitness, Muscle Tower organises boot camps, food donations for the needy, and youth mentoring programmes.

In 2024, it launched the Miss Muscle Tower pageant to help young women develop public speaking skills, confidence, and health awareness.
Hosting the event at Thembisa Plaza expanded both the gym’s reach and its visibility.
“This type of partnership shows what can happen when local community members team up. We were able to galvanise our voices and showcase the results at a place that gives us daily sustenance,” said Langa.
