Gauteng SAPS divers recover three bodies and sunken vessel in multiple water incidents
The SAPS Water Policing and Diving Services responded to multiple water-related incidents across Gauteng between September 23 and 28, recovering three bodies and a vessel during various search and rescue operations.
SAPS divers from the Gauteng Water Policing and Diving Services (WPDS) responded to several water-related incidents across the province, recovering three bodies and one vessel between September 23 and 28.
On September 23, Sedibeng WPDS attended a scene where the body of an unknown male suspected to be a murder victim had already been recovered from a manhole at Boiketlong, Sebokeng.
On September 24, Sedibeng WPDS assisted in the recovery of a sunken vessel at Stonehaven.
On September 27, they responded to a body floating in the Vaal River near Dickinson Park, where they recovered the body of an unknown male victim.

Lastly, Sedibeng attended a boating accident scene at Lochvaal on the morning of September 28.
The accident occurred on September 27, and although the vessels suffered some damage, there were no injuries.
In a further incident on September 25, Johannesburg members responded to a scene at Klipvalley River IN Soweto. A severely decomposed body was recovered from the marshland.
Inquest dockets for these cases are currently under investigation by the local police stations.
