City calls for nominations for Ward 104 committee elections

The City of Ekurhuleni is calling on community groups and interest-based organisations to nominate representatives for the Ward 104 Committee before October 20.

The City of Ekurhuleni invites all organised formations, interest groups and community sectors to nominate and register candidates for the election of Ward 104 Committee Members.

These members will represent the following sectors: SHRAC, Environmental Development, Health and Social Development, Economic Development and City Planning, and Women and Children.

The nomination period will be open until October 20.

Nomination forms are available at all Customer Care Centres, libraries and Public Participation Offices. Once completed, forms must be submitted to the Community Participation and Education Offices, 4th Floor, Kempton Park Civic Centre, or emailed to Yolandi.Smith@ekurhuleni.gov.za

The election will take place on November 17 at 18:00 in the Council Chambers, Kempton Park.

To qualify as a Ward Committee Member, nominees must be South African citizens who are registered voters in Ward 104, at least 18 years old, have no criminal convictions, and must not owe the Council for municipal services unless suitable arrangements have been made to settle the account in line with Council policy.

Each nomination must be accompanied by a letter from the nominating organisation, a copy of the nominee’s identification document, and a recent water and lights account.
