Pedestrian killed in R21 crash near Voortrekker off-ramp

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes as Voortrekker off-ramp remains temporarily closed while authorities attend to the scene.

A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the R21 South near the Voortrekker Road off-ramp on Saturday morning, October 18.

According to initial reports, the man succumbed to his injuries and was certified dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

Members of the EMPD Bike Unit and paramedics from ER24 responded to the incident.
