Power restoration in final testing phase for Pomona, Bredell

Many homes and businesses have been without electricity since Friday evening, with several revised restoration times issued.

The City of Ekurhuleni has confirmed that technicians are now in the final testing phase before restoring power to affected areas in Pomona, Bredell, and parts of Glen Marais.

According to the city’s latest update, once testing is complete, power will be gradually restored to residents.

Many homes and businesses have been without electricity since Friday evening, with several revised restoration times issued over the past few days as teams worked to repair multiple faults.

Ward 25 Councillor Marinda Beukes earlier said she had escalated the matter to the Mayor’s office, calling the situation “very bad” and urging the city to act swiftly.

The City of Ekurhuleni has again apologised for the inconvenience and reminded residents to treat all electrical points as live while final work is completed.
