Jeugland and KPHS learners excel in 2025 Alpha Mathematics exams
Jeugland and KPHS celebrated eight distinctions in the 2025 Alpha Mathematics finals, showcasing strong talent in advanced mathematics.
Eight learners from Hoërskool Jeugland and Kempton Park High School (KPHS) achieved distinctions in the 2025 Alpha Mathematics final examinations.

• Kogin van der Merwe (KPHS) – 80%;
• Nathan Wasserfall (KPHS) – 87%;
• Katlego Maile (Jeugland) – 82%;
• Wian Pieters (KPHS) – 83%;
• Simoné Muller (Jeugland) – 87%;
• Elzé Bornman (Jeugland) – 88%;
• Amélie van Huyssteen (KPHS) – 80%;
• Mieke Hanekom (KPHS) – 86%.

Alpha Mathematics (formerly Additional Mathematics HG) is an extra-curricular subject offered to learners with a strong interest in advanced mathematics.
The programme is designed to bridge the gap between school-level maths and university-level study, preparing learners for tertiary fields such as actuarial science, commerce, engineering, applied mathematics and computer science.
