Essential Ekurhuleni services to continue during holiday shutdown
While municipal admin offices pause for the festive break, critical services such as health care, policing, waste removal, and utilities remain active.
The City of Ekurhuleni says steps are being taken to ensure essential public services remain uninterrupted over the Christmas/New Year period, while some municipal offices (in-person services) pause for the festive season break.
While admin will observe a festive shutdown, crucial functions like waste collection, policing (EMPD), disaster management (DEMS), health services (community healthcare centres and hospitals), emergency lines, and utility support (water and electricity) will continue running.
Metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini assured residents that dedicated teams will be on standby to attend to maintenances and emergency repairs.
