Long-time community caregiver Rebeca Phathakge has appealed to the public for assistance in tracing the family of David Fourie, who passed away on Sunday.
Phathakge, who has been caring for destitute and vulnerable residents for decades, said she met Fourie three weeks ago and took him into her home, where she provided him with food and care, as she has done for many others in need.
Following his passing, Fourie’s body was taken to a nearby government mortuary.

“While he stayed with me, he mentioned that he had two daughters, one named Rolene,” said Phathakge.
She is now pleading with the community to help locate Fourie’s family. Should no relatives come forward, Phathakge is also seeking assistance to raise funds for his funeral.
Anyone with information that may assist is asked to contact Rebeca Phathakge on 060 637 4018 or Makgolo on 068 343 2742.
