Tshegofatsa Rona launches back-to-school shoe drive for underprivileged children

Tshegofatsa Rona Welfare and Community Organisation has launched a back-to-school shoe donation drive aimed at providing footwear to underprivileged children ahead of the new school year.

The campaign, themed Give Hope to Our Young Ones, is calling on community members to donate pairs of boys’ and girls’ shoes.

Founder Cynthia Dinalane said the organisation aims to collect 1,500 pairs of shoes as part of its No More Bare Feet in 2026 initiative.

“We want to ensure that children return to school with dignity and confidence,” Dinalane said.

She added that the shoes are scheduled to be handed over on January 10.

Donations can be dropped off at 24 Carol van der Walt Street, Edleen, Kempton Park.
