Weapons and vapes seized in police search at Norkem Park schools
EMPD and SAPS confiscated knives, vape devices and suspected space cookies during a school safety operation.
EMPD’s Social Crime Prevention Unit, in conjunction with SAPS, Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens and the CPF, conducted a school search operation at Norkem Park High School and Birch Acres Secondary School on March 4.
The purpose of the operation was to maintain discipline and order within the school environment, while also preventing crime, violence and substance abuse among learners.

During the operation, officers also raised awareness about the dangers of substance abuse, bullying and the possession of dangerous weapons on school premises.
The following items were seized during the search: two knives, 11 vape devices, seven nicotine products, a box of matches and suspected space cookies.
