EMPD conducts school searches in Thembisa
A joint operation by the EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit, SAPS, Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens and the CPF at Thuto Ke Matla and Boitumelong secondary schools in Thembisa confiscated drugs, vapes, cigarettes and dangerous items as part of ongoing efforts to keep schools safe.
The EMPD Social Crime Prevention Unit (SCPU), in conjunction with SAPS, Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens and the Community Policing Forum (CPF), conducted school searches at Thuto Ke Matla Secondary School and Boitumelong Secondary School in Thembisa.
On February 11, officers carried out the operation as part of ongoing efforts to maintain order and discipline within schools.
The purpose of the searches was to prevent crime, violence and abuse in schools.

Officers also raised awareness about the dangers of substance abuse, bullying and carrying dangerous weapons.
During the operation, the following items were confiscated:
• 4 vapes
• 4 dangerous weapons
• 21 Mylan pills
• 22 cigarettes
• 2 packets of dagga
• Sweets, snacks and earphones
