Infant killed and 17 others injured in horror Bredell crash

The crash involved a Toyota Quantum carrying 15 occupants and a Nissan Hardbody double cab with three occupants.

A six-week-old baby has died following a head-on collision between two vehicles on 9th Road in Bredell earlier today, March 18.

According to DEMS spokesperson William Ntladi, emergency services received the call at approximately 12:00.

The crash involved a Toyota Quantum carrying 15 occupants and a Nissan Hardbody double cab with three occupants, bringing the total number of patients to 18.

“One patient, a six-week-old infant, was declared deceased on scene.

“Five patients, including both drivers, sustained critical injuries, while 11 others were treated for serious to moderate injuries,” said Ntladi.
