EMPD’s Social Crime Prevention Unit officers conducted a scholar patrol inspection at Birch Acres Primary School in Kempton Park on March 13.

The purpose of the inspection was to monitor the effectiveness of the scholar patrol in regulating traffic and ensuring the safety of learners during school arrival times.

During the operation, officers also checked vehicle compliance among learner transport operators.

Fines were issued to motorists found to be in violation of road traffic regulations.

Motorists were advised to adhere to the prescribed speed limits around school zones to ensure the safety of learners, scholar patrol members, and pedestrians.
