Pedestrian dies after being struck on R21 near R24 split

The victim, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, was found lying on the roadside and was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

An unidentified female pedestrian died following a collision on the R21 southbound, just before the R24 split, on the evening of April 25.

Officers from the EMPD Freeway Unit responded to the scene, where they found a white VW hatchback parked on the roadside.

The victim, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, was found lying on the roadside. She was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Two lanes remain affected, and motorists are advised to approach the area with caution and expect delays.
