Learners protest over lack of arrests in schoolgirl murder case

According to reports, the victim was still wearing her school uniform and had visible stab wounds.

She was believed to have been reported missing by her parent on a family group chat.

While police have not confirmed a motive, concerns have been raised in the community about the possible involvement of gang-related violence, which remains an ongoing issue in the area.

The incident has sparked anger among learners from various schools in Thembisa.

Today, learners gathered at different schools to mobilise support, calling for a march to the Rabasotho Police Station to demand answers and swift action.

They protested, demanding justice for the deceased learner.

The situation has created tension in the area, with learners expressing fear for their safety and calling for urgent intervention.

Some learners who spoke to The Thembisan said their main aim is to see justice served and to ensure their safety at school and within the community.

They have also expressed dissatisfaction with the police response, stating that they feel their concerns are not being taken seriously.

A request for comment sent to the police last week regarding the investigation has not yet been responded to.

On Monday afternoon, learners were still gathered in different parts of Thembisa, with some assembled at the Rabasotho open space near the police station.
