Vehicle fire disrupts traffic at OR Tambo departure road

The departure lane has been temporarily closed, with traffic being diverted to the arrivals lane to ease congestion.

Motorists are advised that there has been a vehicle fire on the departure road at OR Tambo International Airport.

It is alleged that a green Renault Triber carrying two male occupants overheated and subsequently caught alight.

Officers from the EMPD’s OR Tambo Precinct, together with the Airports Company South Africa Fire Department, responded swiftly to the scene.

The fire was successfully contained, and no injuries were reported.
