SPARK Kempton Park celebrates World Book Day with colourful costumes

In celebration of World Book and Copyright Day, which takes place annually on April 23, SPARK Kempton Park scholars came dressed as their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life with creativity and excitement.

The theme for World Book and Copyright Day 2026 is “read, make your star shine”.

According to the Department of Education, this theme focuses on empowerment through literacy, highlighting that reading helps individuals, particularly children, “shine” by unlocking their potential.

“It was a joyful day that truly celebrated a love for reading,” said Winnie Timba, school operations coordinator at SPARK Kempton Park.
